Using Up My Papers

I've  used  up  every  bit  of  my  painted  papers  from  last  week.   Well,  there  were  only  4,  but  they  were  on  pretty  big  watercolor  sheets,  and  I  wish  I  had  more,  but  the  luxury  of  time  is  leaving  me  again.   I  am  happy  though  with  how  I  used   the  rest  of  my  papers--

...and  I  love  these  fun   knobs  that  I  found  at  Hobby  Lobby  that  just  opened  up  here  in  our  town  a  few  months  ago.  I  really  haven't  been  in  it  much  since  it  opened,  so  I  took some  time  to  walk  the entire  store.   What  a  great  store.  They  have  a  lot  of  everything!   And  if  you  look  at  the  piece  on  the  left,  the  main  image  was  from  a  paper  that  I  had  made  in  the  beginning  of  the  year--

This  was  done  on  a  piece  of   heavy  cardstock,  and  I  show  you  exactly  how  I  made  it  on  this  post.   (lots  of  texture!)

And  I  wanted  to  do  more  with  these  papers,  but  they  were  pretty  much  gone,  so  luckily  I  thought  about  doing  this  beforehand.   While  I  was  making  all  of  my  pieces  this  week  and   last,  I  was  taking  close-up  photos  of  my  work  in  progress  for  this  reason  alone--

to  make  some  "scrapbook" papers......so  I  could  make  these....

.........really  love  those  Hobby  Lobby  knobs!   As  you  may  have  guessed,  they  were  on  sale  last  week    : )

wonderful, and thanks for reminding me about the crayon/mini iron video. I saw that one a while back and forgot about it. I would like to try that technique.

Your art is amazing, as always. Those knobs are perfect for your style. We don't have Hobby Lobby here and it looks like they carry a different sort of selection than Michael's. I haven't seen finished knobs at Michaels. Those are great!

I am so glad you came to see me teach, I so enjoyed it and I will be back online doing some more stuff for the free online art class. I love your papers so much. I hope you get them all copied and don't have to hand paint them? I am going to have a look at how you made them.

Gosh, those boxes are great and the knobs are the perfect addition. I had forgotten that post until I went back to review it. I've never used gel medium for paste papers. I've always used Sta Flo liquid starch. I personally think my paint costs less than the gel medium, but I don't sell my pieces, and if I did, I would probably use better paint.

I love the knobs also, so coordinated with your beautiful papers and aren't you glad you have that record and can make a few more. It takes a ton of ink.
