Having Fun With Collage

Today--leaving--for  my  final  show  of  the  season--so  happy!!  I  think  it  was  getting   to  me  more  this  year   because  this  past  year  is  the  first  time  I've  been  blogging  and  being  active  with  other online  art  activities,  and  I've  missed  it  alot!!

But  before  I  left   I  just  wanted  to  squeeze  in  a  few  more  pieces--completely  unrelated  to  Christmas.   I've  been  pretty  much  focusing  on  Christmas  since  the  end  of  September,  and  I  just  wanted  to  play  around  a  little.   So  thanks  to  K & Co.,  Tim  Holtz,  and  Ranger--I  did.   Just  had  some  fun--

I  used  the  Ranger  Distress  Crackle  Paint  around  the edges, and  the  more  I  use  it,  the  more  I  love  it.   It  comes  in  all  of  the  distress  ink  colors,  and it  ALWAYS  works!

See  all  of  the  tiny  cracks  it  makes--I  love that!

On  these,  I  used  the  weathered  wood  and  scattered  straw  crackle  paints,  and  then  put  a  burnt  umber  wash  over  it  when  it  was  dry  (that's  when  the  cracks  magically  appear) and  like  all  crackle  when  you  wipe  off  the  burnt  umber,  it  stays  in  the  cracks.

I'm as ready as I'll ever be, and I might  even catch in a little shopping while I'm there, since there's a big mall right down the road. I love to shop and haven't been able to even do this, but that will be changing. I'll try to visit everyone this weekend too!

  33. Oh my, you are so creative! all these pieces look wonderful together, they are nice and cohesive. I love the crackle paints too, haven't used them that much though. I like your idea of putting paint over top. I thought because they were already colored, you weren't supposed to, but I think I will try that next time.

Good luck at your craft show!

  38. I can understand the joy of having a final show of the year, then being finished for the year. It must feel good.

I'm glad you like the distress crackle. I simply hate it. I've never been able to get it to work right. And it's supposed to be so easy to use, too!
