This Week I Had Some Inspiration

........with  Kristin's  Summer  of  Color.    The  color  for  this  week  is  purple--what  a  pretty  color!   And  all  of  the  shades  of  it  are  wonderful.   So  first  off--here's  my  art  piece  that  I  made--

So  my  first  inspiration  was  with  the  workshop  that  I  took  with  Christy  Tomlinson--her  She  Art  Course.   I  loved  this  class,  and  I  also  wanted  to  mention  that  these  girls  that  I had   made during  my  class  and  took  with  me  to  my  art  fair  were  VERY  popular!

And  the  next  inspiration  (or  should  I  say  obsession)?

.....what  else---but  the  little  family  of  finches  that  are  living  in  my  flower  basket  right  now.   I  have  to  say  that  I've  become--

....with  Mom  and  Dad  Finch.   Everyday  I  take  down  the  basket  to  get  a  glance  and  a   photo  while  they  patiently  watch  me  from  the  neighbor's  house.     As  you  may  have  guessed,  this  is  the  first  time  I've  ever  experienced  this  miracle  of  life.    To  think--just  a  few  short  weeks  ago  it  went  from  this--

to  this

...and  yes---I  did  get  this  close  up  to  it.   I  cropped  the  photo  just  a  bit,  because  this  nest  and  it's  surroundings  are  getting  pretty  disgusting,  to  say  the  least.   I  guess  the  kids  don't  mind,  as  long  as  they  get  fed.  I  see  the  Dad  in  there  a  lot  too!   And...one  of  the  birds  started  to  flap  it's  wing!!    They  are  all   still  alive,  but  very  very  crammed  into  this  tiny  nest  that's  only  about  3  inches  across.   I  think  it's  time  for  Scott  (the  oldest)  to  leave  the  nest    :- (

So  I  really  enjoyed  this  week's  challenge  and  to  see  more--remember  to  go  over  to  Kristin's  blog.

I  also  want  to  remind  everyone,  if  you  haven't  already,  you  can  enter  my  giveaway.   It's  the  post  directly  below  this  one.   I'll  be  drawing  the  name  on  Friday.

  12. One of my friends makes these same "women." She sells them at a local art establishment and they are very popular in Kansas, too. So I am glad you are having fun with yours.

Lobe the bird photos as well as the ones you added to your painting. Nice tie-in.
