Okay I'm not a seamstress. I know as much about a sewing machine as I would a car engine, and I envy anyone who does know about these 2 things. But last week at Jo Ann's their canvases were 40% off and I found a nine pack of 4 x4 gallery wrapped canvases. So I collaged my painted papers that I showed you here on them
As I was making them, they reminded me of tiny patchwork quilts, which I love, so this is my version of quilt blocks! And I wanted them to all be the same, but yet different from each other so I decided to embellish them, which was just as much fun as making them--
I have 3 more to make, but I think I'm going to do more--I LOVED doing these--I'm just going to have to paint some more papers though!
And I hope everyone had a great Easter yesterday--I did. We went over to my son-in-law's family's house and enjoyed a delicous dinner AND I got to see HIM (who I haven't seen in a very long time)--
BOB!
And yes, the Easter bunny paid him a visit too--
One more thing--I just wanted to remind everyone of my giveaway on April 8, this Thursday. If you haven't left a comment, just go to this post and leave one, and good luck!!
ABSOLUTELY FANTABULOUS ARTINESS! thanks so much for sharing your process of exceptional creativity... AND that bob sure is a cutie... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou may not know about sewing, but those 9 patch designs are simply unbelievable. Talk about time and detail. Of course, I can't forget color, which I believe makes your art so special.
ReplyDeleteOh Diane, thank you. That table gives me an idea for some of my dumpster wood. Your post couldn't have come at a better time.
Glad you got to see Bob. It has been awhile. Were you Bob's secret bunny?

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet puppy!
I like the little canvases when I saw the first picture, then wow, I love the additions to them!!
ReplyDeleteBob just cracks me up, both the name and the look he gives!!!
You have very creative design talent, these blocks are so pretty, not just the colors but the embellishments are just right.
ReplyDeleteYou did them quickly, and I admire those stright lines, I do have a great deal of trouble with straight lines, even lines in books look crooked sometimes.
I bake use of osme of the inspiration I got from you and painted an odd person on a large wooden plate. I am not quite done, and it needs protective glaze yet and maybe more than one coat. Also one of my background elements looks like a spider coming down and I can't decide if that is good or bad. I keep thinking my goodness Miss Muffit has aged. I really wanted a thin, soleful looking person with a mysterious
sort of feeling.
What a cute little dog, such a face and how lucky to get an Easter Basket.
Oh Yes, I like the table also, very attractive composition of houses on that.
Wow wow wow, your little 4x4 blocks are amazing. Such detail :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Bob too - is he a french bulldog? Cute! Kate
