What a great place to see some stunning art. And the special exhibit that was going on, and still is, was Picasso. His art was everywhere to be seen--here's just a sampling of what was there of his work--
Yes, these are all works of Picasso--even this next one--
He was such an amazing artist!
And then there was a little Jackson Pollock--
...mixed with Gustav Klimt--
and Henri Matisse--
Don't forget about Van Gogh!
Any Frida fans out there? ; )
(LOVE this one!)
Here's another self-portrait of Frida.......and Diane Salter--
(see how inspiring she is? : )
And what's the Museum of Modern Art without a little Warhol--
But you know---some art, I just don't get--
I could go on, believe me, I took many more photos--needless to say, I really enjoyed this. And I forgot to show you another place that I had to go to while I was in New York--
Another highlight of my vacation--Blick art supplies.
So how do you finish off a trip to New York City?--What else--a Broadway show!
And of course, it has to be the Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre--what a fantastic experience--I recommend this to everyone.
We really enjoyed ourselves when we were there, but we were certainly ready to come back home---because you know what they say about home--there's no place like it!
P.S. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!!

ReplyDeleteI missed MoMA the three times I was in NYC. You are one very lucky gal. Thanks for sharing these really awesome photos with us. Especially loved the Diane Salter. Some art I don't get either. And I bet they spent more for those three "pieces" than I've made in my lifetime. Loved it all. Thanks for the lovely, lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you to have had such a wonderful time! I would love to have a Blick store close by. I saw Phantom when it came to Portland, OR and drove home singing all the way. Loved it! Love the art you shared too. I'm still watching that work of art show and I too just don't get some of the art they've made.
