So these two are a work in progress--
I'll post this when I'm finished, but I'm liking these two so far.
And this next one was just a fooling around one. I was in the process of cleaning up a pile of stuff in my room--I always end up with these piles. I can't understand why I just can't put away things when I'm finished with them! Well anyway, in the pile, I found my moleskine journal from my Suzi Blu class--and you can probably guess the rest of the story--
I'm so glad that I decided to take this class way back in January (wow--did this year fly by!). I completely enjoy sketching and painting faces, and I'm still eager to learn more--just like I was in the beginning of January. BTW-the pile of stuff is still laying on the floor in my artroom.
And this next one isn't a face--
(reanactment)
How about cleaning your very dirty paintbrush in a full, freshly ground and brewed, not so cheap cup of coffee. Ooooh!!.......I get SO mad when I do this!
Love the two in progress pieces and I usually drink hot tea while painting...I've been so afraid I'd do that... stick the brush in the cup instead of the can!
ReplyDeleteI've never done the last one, BUT, I have lots of piles!
ReplyDeleteLOve the faces Diane! You amaze me at how much you do, and you do it soooo well!
HUgs!
Your faces are always wonderful and have so much character to them.....sorry about the coffee...
ReplyDeleteGreat drawings. Since I don't paint or drink coffee I haven't made the brush clean up boo boo. As for piles...OH YEA! However I prefer to call mine stacks. LOL It amazes me how they accumulate. I am going through some in between perusing blogs. Happy and Safe Labor Day Holiday...
ReplyDeleteOh you made me giggle Diane, I did the same today, put my brush full of matte gel medium straight in to my coffee...oops!!
ReplyDeleteLove your art as always, keep it up ;)

Love your sun and moon, can't wait to see it finished. Your face sketch is very pretty and your proportions are spot on.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun and moon. Painbrush faux pas....Of course in the diet coke.
ReplyDeleteDiane this painting is so beautiful! Love the faces on the sun and moon! And your Suzi face is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am a pile queen myself! I just don't know why I can't just put stuff away in the moment and then I end up with piles in each room of stuff!
Thanks for your comment on my blog yesterday! Glad you like my pug! :)
did you really dunk your brush in your coffee? Oy...not funny.
ReplyDeletelovely faces all.
So glad you drug out your piles and saw how far you have come just this year. I love your work in progress pieces. They are both so YOU!!
ReplyDeleteI use an old insulated mug with lid when I'm in the craft room. No accidents that way. And I love reenactment. Too funny.
Ha my coffee enjoys my paint brush quite frequently too! At least I haven't made the mistake of drinking it after...
ReplyDeleteYou know, your faces are fantastic. Am so loving the moon and sun! Thanks for stopping by and Harley and Oliver send their love. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks for following my blog, Diane. Wow...love your style! I'll be back for more. Hugs! Angelia
ReplyDeleteHi Diane!
ReplyDeleteI love your eclipse, I can' wait to see it finished!:)
I know what you mean about the paintbrush in the coffee cup thing, I just about grabbed my paint water thinking if was my coffee cup! :P I think I need to keep my coffee on an entirely separate table! LOL!
Happy creating!
Cindy
Wow, I'm a bit crazy about sun images...hence my blog name...Celestial Charms. :)
ReplyDeleteSo you know I'm smiling ear to ear with your first images. So beautiful.
Maureen
Bummer about the coffee. But Smiles about the faces.
ReplyDeleteHa ha that is so funny. I have done it and I am glad I have never put mine in a glass of wine yet, but I guess that is only cause I never use old wine glasses to rinse my brushes in.
ReplyDeleteI love your little sunshine faces!
Xx
Your work is so beautiful! You have a lovely blog!

LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! The sun and moon are great! Usually, the sun is depicted as the male... I like your interpretation.
As for cleaning your brush in coffee, I'm so glad I'm not alone... lol!

yep, i've done it too with the paint brush and have even drank the wrong cup, ew..shows how ya'how you get in the zone, but how quickly you can come out of it, darn.
ReplyDeletei am just loving your faces, each and every different one. i love how the one overlaps onto the other, very clever, sweet and humorous!
keep 'em coming, you know how i love faces and i thank you, diane. xo
Hi Diane. Yes I have done that but in my nice iced cold glass of tea. Ayeeeee! I love your faces. Your faces always something to tell. Love them all. Great work. Have a great Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteoh diane, i hav done the coffee thing so many times...hate it because i have to throw out my beloved coffee...and i do love my coffee..
ReplyDeleteyour work is always so great....
The things we find when we clean our studios!! Love your old face and your new ones!!
ReplyDeletethanks hilarious, i've done that twice!
ReplyDeleteok, can i just say your sun and moon are so cleaver, and sweet. so sweet and loving. just darling.
and your suzi face, so graceful and soulful. i can't wait to see her painted. i have to practice more, i want that kind of a face! mine look too structured. practice, i know, practice!
oh my, I have not dipped my brush in coffee yet, but when I do I will think of you.
ReplyDelete'she' is lovely as are the sun and moon!
I am a pile girl too, darn and drat, but what is, well it is.
I love the new faces, Diane! The Sun and the Moon are amazing! I had to laugh about the paintbrush in the coffee mug. :)))
ReplyDeleteDiane your work is an inspiration, I love it, your moon and sun is beautiful, a great concept!
ReplyDeleteYour collage works are also real favourites, I really appreciate what you do, all the best to you!
Love the sun piece. Yes, I hate when I dip my brush in my coffee too!
ReplyDeleteI have done that many times with the coffee,I've learned to keep my coffee away my from my water. I love the sun faces. Don't worry about the pile it will be there tomorrow. If it makes you feel any better I have a few piles!
ReplyDeleteYour progress faces are lovely, Diane! I particularly love your SuziBlu class face.
ReplyDeleteLOL...I trained myself to place my tea or coffee on the opposite side to where my water jars are after having done this same thing many moons ago. :)
Your sketches are great. I think you should make more faces. Piles are only natural. It's the artistic process. Along with losing things every now and then. I lost a pair of hemostats (used for stuffing dolls) a few months ago and just found them. It was like finding a treasure.
ReplyDeleteYour new WIPs are beautiful! Would love to see the Suzi face completed. Oh my, I have washed my brush in my drink several times, too. It's good to know I'm not alone in this.
ReplyDeleteYour faces are so beautiful:))
ReplyDeleteHugs, Biljana
Or how about when you get the cups mixed up and take a sip of paint water. been there done that.
ReplyDeleteick!
Love the sunny moon faces.
T
ooh, haven't done that yet, but have had some other unique experiences!
ReplyDeleteLove the moon/sun pic...and your face is beautiful~
Painted coffee...yuck! Piles, yes, have them just about everwhere...lol
your last photo made me giggle!
ReplyDeletei can ABSOLUTELY see myself doing that....am actually pretty shocked it hasn't happened yet.
oh and the piles...
those dreaded piles....
can more than relate to that!!!!
i really LOVE your sun and moon and of course your beautifully sketched girl.
happy tuesday to you
xoxo

Oh it's a coffee painting!!! I have don't that so many times too. I have to keep my coffee way out of reach. I love your progress so far and of course this is a beautiful face!!!
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Diane,
ReplyDeletelove your two in progress projets,
so beautifully drawn both, -the face so very lovely,-you are just so fantastic with that pensil, dear.
Hugs, Dorthe
Hahaha! I do this in my cup of tea all the time!:-) Gorgeous sketch Diane
ReplyDeleteLol, I've dipped my dirty paintbrush in my drink before. It sucks when that happens. Your painting and your drawing are beautiful! Keep up the good work :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous works in progress! I am excited to see them both finished. I am always terrified that I am going to accidentally take a sip of my paint water instead of my actual drink. Thankfully, that hasn't happened yet! Theresa
ReplyDeleteHi Diane - thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I had to come check out what you have been up to. Love, love, love your Suzi Blu face. Are you also taking the Mermaids class now? I am and am loving it! Your artwork is just amazing. I also had a chuckle seeing the paintbrush in your coffeecup. I have almost done that numerous times with either my coffee or my glass of water.
ReplyDeleteArlene / Spirit Essence Art
Beautiful sun and moon, clever design. I also like that background it made me look again because subtle yet very much there.
ReplyDeleteAnd who can not resist suddenly one just does a face, I am always tempted when I have background pieces done and laying about even tiny cut off pieces I think of a face.
We have been gone several days and not it feels good to come and visit and see what you have been doing. Always very creative and done so well.
hi Diane, oh wow I can totally relate to the paintbrush in the coffee cup!! must be a sign of being totally aborbed in what we're doing i think! gorgeous works in progress you have at the moment... I just love those faces especially the sun and moon together like that, just lovely. I love that you did one of Suzi Blu's classes... she was one of the first artists I discovered when I started exploring this incredible art world that exists online! thanks for your sweet thoughts over my way... what a lovely suggestion you made and I would never have thought of it... thank you! xo
ReplyDeleteOh my! I have put my paintbrush in my coffee cup once or twice; usually though, I drink my paint water! And every time I clean my studio I swear that during my next project I'm not going to throw piles of stuff on the floor and every other surface, but it never works;)
ReplyDeleteI love the sun and moon!
LOL!! That is when you know you've been painting too long, but you have to drink the coffee so you can paint late! I have caught myself almost doing the same thing. I love the sun faces! Your work always brings a smile.
