Still playing with my 'stuff', and this time it's bottles.
These little things can become very addictive--kind of like ATC's. It doesn't take much because they're so small, and when you have so much 'fodder' like I do, the possibilities are endless. And they're all inside of this fun shadowbox--
And then I added a little variation with this next one--I threw a salt (or maybe pepper?) shaker into the mix.
I knew when I saw that lone salt shaker last year at a garage sale that I could use it for something. It's now the body of my Frida-like doll. The bottle is attached to it underneath--I covered it with text pages. And love those little watch part vials too. And I put her in another garage sale find--a wooden cheese box--
How fun!
And this next one is my favorite--
No bottles in this one--this time I got out my stash of children's blocks---and believe me--I have a lot! I can never pass these things up when I see them.
And look at these fun birds--
I knew that I wanted to put birds in here, but I wanted a little something different. So I took a regular craft store bird and covered it bits and pieces of dictionary pages--
....just the look that I was looking for. You can use any kind of thin paper like tissue or telephone book pages also--it's so easy.
So these past 3 pieces were made from what I like to call my scavenger hunt. I would get an idea in my head, and then the biggest challenge was to try and remember where I had everything. It was actually kind of fun, because I've found other things that have given me other ideas for other pieces--like putting a jigsaw puzzle together!
You are amazing! Love the little salt shaker girl. I could come play with you.

ReplyDeleteOh . . . that inspires me! I have a broken bird that I want to play with after seeing this (oh, that sounds bad, but you're following I'm sure) LOVE the family piece too - the blocks are the best! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think we need a picture of the room that spawned these beauties. I would love to see how you store/organize all those little bits and pieces. I do okay with keeping mine organized but I'm always looking for new ideas. Store by color...? by size?... by original purpose?... It is always a work in progress.
ReplyDeleteYou always have this energy of fun in all your pieces! What an amazing stash you must have! I bet I could spend days there in awe and wonder going through your finds!!!

Oh WOW, Diane. I am truly impressed. I had heard bottles were the big thing again, but these are delightful. I love the frozen Charlotte the best, but I also like the children's blocks. Not sure where you find them, because I look for them EVERYWHERE I go, and never find any. Nicely done using yo8ur imagination and some awesome bits and pieces.
