Before I start this post--OWOH--amazing!! I wish this wasn't the last year--I am blown away by all the countless numbers of creative people that are out there, that I never would have met--amazing!! And I thank everyone for visiting me. If you want to go to my OWOH post, it's directly below this one or it's at the top of my sidebar.
Okay--now--the first reason why I'm happy! I get to play with my papers that I painted all last month. Now that it's February, I start thinking about making pieces for my art shows this year. I made a decision to cut back on my shows, so my first one won't be until the summer, which I'm very happy about. Now I can take time to create art as opposed to feeling like I have to produce it in numbers--you know, just enjoying the process of art-making.
And I have so many papers in different colors, I wasn't sure which ones to use. So I decided to go with colors that I normally don't use.
Deep Blues, Magenta, Deep Greens, and Golds--although the gold or yellow ochre I use ALL the time--I just love the way these turned out!
And I still have a whole bunch of papers left too!!
Pam Carriker's new book! And just like the name implies--that's what it's main purpose is--how to fit art into your life everyday no matter how hectic life may seem to be at times. There are many well-known mixed media artists featured in the book, and not only do they show step-by-step instructions of their art work--plus Pam's version of their art also, but also they explain how they make art fit into their busy lives with some great tips! And they also explain how their art helps them with other parts of their life. I really enjoy knowing about my favorite artists--up close and personal.
So, I have to say that this is fast-becoming one of my favorite art books, and believe me I have alot---I know that any artist would love this book!
