Combining--Making It My Own

So  what  I'm  combining  are  different  styles  of  collaging  with  paper.   The  first  one  would  be  my  style  that  I've  always  been  drawn  to--patterns  and  shapes  with  a  definite  design  in  mind  before  I  even  start  which  would  be  this  house  that  I  did--

And  the  next  one  is  a  she-art  girl  which  is  what  Christy  taught  us  in  her  workshop--

I  will  never  get  tired  of  making  these  girls.   It's  like  making  AND  playing  with  paper  dolls  again!   Half  the  fun  is  wondering  what  kind  of  outfit  to  make  for  them,  and  with  what  kind  of  paper--endless  possibilities.

And  the  third  one  I  did  was  the  background  that  my  girl's  on.   It's    Jane's  version  that  she  teaches  in  her  Portraits  and  Papers  workshop--

very  random  collage---tearing  and  filling  in  the  space--basically  painting  with  papers.   I  love  all  of  these  techniques  and  combined  them  all  to  put  on  this  cupboard  door--

One  of  my  favorite  parts  of  these  doors  is  the  outside,  because  it's  an  instant  frame  for  your  artwork.   I  just  collaged  randomly  around  it  and  added  some  embellishments--

Love  using  these  doors  or  anything,  for  that  matter,   that  weren't  originally  made  for  art  pieces.   And  speaking  of  art  supplies,  I  was  able  to  go  to  garage  sales  on  Saturday.   The  weather  was  for  once  very  pleasant.   As  a  matter  of  fact,  it  was  our  only  nice  day  in  the  last  few  days--yesterday  and  today--yucky!
