If you've been to my Facebook page, you'll know that I've been painting roosters. And when Kristin told us that orange was the color this week for her Summer of Color, I knew that would be a perfect color for some rooster art--
This was so much fun! I added some images of my older art--these houses--
So....it was so much fun...that I went and did it again!!
I knew that my rooster needed a companion.
Sadly, the Summer of Color is coming to an end....Hey Kristin...maybe you can have a Winter of Color--maybe huh??
And just as this is ending so is the story of the Finch family. Friday when I checked the nest, this is what I found--
Scott, the oldest had left the nest. My husband and I actually saw him fly out of it. And then yesterday morning-
All that was left was Jennifer and John...but I have a feeling when I check it today, they may be gone too. I like to think that they'll stay in touch with each other. And I have to mention that during all of these last few days, the babies' Father has been there watching over them--this is Love!!

My favorite rooster yet! So whimsical!
Is that why he's kicking up his leg--because he found her? Love your happy rooster. And thanks for the final photos of the babies--bet you will see them hanging around in the trees near your house.

I always love your paintings and the rooster and hen are simply adorable. They will make great additions to your stock of items you'll be selling soon. I also am sorry to see the Summer of Color come to an end. It was fun to follow you through all these lovely colors.
And I'm totally impressed that all 5 birds made it. You can be proud grandparents of these babies.
Oooh, what a fitting ending to a beautiful Summer with your Finch family! I have loved seeing them so much that I am almost sad the babies left the nest . . . I keep asking Kendra to stop growing, but, but . . .

Good morning Diane, such delightful roosters, I love their legs, men have legs like that sometimes. One would never say to a man, wow you have rooster legs.
I think you said that your chicken things sold very well, you won't have these long either so pretty and arfully arranged.
what wonderful roosters!
Love your rooster Diane!! your work is beautiful as always.
xoxo
Oh my! Love these panels! I really like how you embellish them.
I agree every rooster needs a partner. They are wonderful. Lovely to see your bird friends grow up and flee the nest. So much fun to watch.
These are so fun, I love all the details and I just love their legs for some reason--whimsical and colorful, they're really great!!! We just had some finches fly the nest, too..they grow SO fast!!

When I was a kid, my mom loved roosters as part of her decor. She had them all over the place. I hated them. Our neighbors raised chickens and they used to run after us. They petrified me. I guess you have to get "old" to come full circle and enjoy things that you thought you hated from days gone by. These are great and bring back wonderful memories.
Beautiful Diane~ Love your paintings as always~
Hope you are staying cool... :)
oh wow, best rooster I have ever seen!
Diane, I love rooster art. Your rooster is fabulous and I'm crazy for his companion too! The little birdie have flown the nest - so glad we got to spy on their little lives... Summer of Color is not over yet - grande finale is coming up.

I love your rosters. I'm glad that your dog is doing better too.
Your work is so incredible. It is always such a treat to visit your blog. I'm always very inspired!
Diane, I just LOVE your work!!! :) It always makes me smile - and I love all the vivid colors you use. The little finches grew so fast! We found a nest in our yard - but we are not sure whether they be robins or wrens. I must have the hubby check on them tomorrow - if they are still there!
Hey, how did I miss this? Love your roosters!! I'm so glad you created two so the one didn't get lonely! And great names for the birdies, lol! I'm sure they'll stay in touch.
