The Olde Curiosity Shoppe

I  really  enjoy  painting  the  way  I  do,  but  I  get  bored  easily,  and  I  have  to  keep  changing  things  up  all  the  time.    And  Graphic 45  came  along  just  at  the  right  time  with  their  latest  papers--

......always  the  coolest  papers....

These  papers  became  my  muse.   They  prompted  me  to  get  out  my  own  Curiosity  Shoppe  treasures  that  I've  been  hoarding.

First  I  started  out  with  this  shadowbox  that  I  found  at  a  local  craft  store  a  couple  of  years  ago--

Even  though  it's  new,  it  has  that  shabby  look  that  I  wanted,  and  was  perfect  for  these  papers-

Then  it  was  time  to  look  at  all  of  my  little  treasures  that  I've  been  collecting.   I  mean,  this  is  the  reason  why  I  rescued  these  forgotten  bits  and  pieces  of  the  past.

Some  I  find  at  garage  sales  that  were  destined  for  the  trash,  and...

others  I've  found  at  flea  markets  that  would  have  been  put  back  in  a  big  box  of  other  neglected  and  forgotten  items  for  the  next  flea  market.

(how  cute  are  these 2!)

And  some  of  the  jewelry  pieces  were  new  (but  had  that  vintage  feel to  them),  thanks  to  Michaels  and  their  jewelry  department--although  I  found  them  on  clearance--another  great  deal!

So thanks  to  Graphic  45  for  being  my  muse  and  urging  me  to  get  all  of  my  little  gems  out of  hiding.   They  have  a past  and  a  story  to  tell.....and  now  they've  come  together  with  a  brand  new  one!

Diane, that is a great bos, shadow bos and your finds are remarkable, this must also make you excited for summer and the hunt. You do find the most great thigs and what makes them even better is your arrangement, just makes a person appreciate stuff in the drawer. I think about all the old fishing stuff I see at sales, people leave it there but I bet men would live it. I wonder how it fasten it down for permanentcie, (not a word)
Love thepapers also, I have a few and working with some now.
