So How Fun Are These?!

More  boxes!

This  box  was  fun  to  make.   What  I  did  first  was  collage  pages  from  a  children's  school  reader book  on  it, and  then  I  took  my  house  prints   from  different  pieces that  I've  made  and  cut  them  out to  make  a  little  village  that  wraps  around  the  box.  And   I  really  like  what  I  did  on  the  lid--

I  have   an  old  glass  doorknob  on   it.  If  you  are  a  flea  market  shopper,  you  know  that  these doorknobs  don't  come  cheap.  They're   a  heavy  glass with  brass hardware.  Well, I found 4  of  them  at  a  garage  sale (which  is  unusual  in  itself  ) for  $2.50 each.  That's  a  VERY  good  price  for  these.  I  really like  this for  this  box--it   fits  the theme  of  the  houses  so  well.

And  do you  remember  Button  Town?

I  don't  think  I'll  ever  get  tired of  making  these  boxes!

And  I just  want  to remind  everyone  of  my 2 giveaways--there's  still  time for you.  I'll  be  drawing  the names  on Thursday.  Just  go  to  this  post  and   leave  a  comment--good  luck!

I love those boxes too! The glass knob is fabulous on top. I make boxes too but mine are quite a bit different. I create bas-reliefs on a lot of them and I sometimes use the ball feet. Yes, they are addictive. I love the colors in yours and especially love the one with your paintings.

Oh Diane! I love the little house box with the glass doorknob on top. It is adorable!
I have some glass knobs, as well. I love them but have not made anything with them yet. I was thinking of a shelf with them underneath for holding my jewelry. We'll see.

Tammy

how fun?? way fun!!! :)

I especially love the second one!!
We have several of those door knobs on our old doors - the keep falling off. If we are on the wrong side of the door and no one else is home, we are out of luck!!! I really need to replace them, but they are just too pretty!!!

these are amazing!! the fact that your painting is fabulous doesn't hurt either:) I have several wood boxes that I just had to have while browsing through antique/junk shops. I couldn't decide what to do with them but it sure looks like there are lots of ways to approach... and I have tons and tons of buttons, well, and junk jewelry parts... thanks for sharing your wonderful pieces! if I have any success I'll let you know:)
