I've used up every bit of my painted papers from last week. Well, there were only 4, but they were on pretty big watercolor sheets, and I wish I had more, but the luxury of time is leaving me again. I am happy though with how I used the rest of my papers--
...and I love these fun knobs that I found at Hobby Lobby that just opened up here in our town a few months ago. I really haven't been in it much since it opened, so I took some time to walk the entire store. What a great store. They have a lot of everything! And if you look at the piece on the left, the main image was from a paper that I had made in the beginning of the year--
This was done on a piece of heavy cardstock, and I show you exactly how I made it on this post. (lots of texture!)
And I wanted to do more with these papers, but they were pretty much gone, so luckily I thought about doing this beforehand. While I was making all of my pieces this week and last, I was taking close-up photos of my work in progress for this reason alone--
to make some "scrapbook" papers......so I could make these....
.........really love those Hobby Lobby knobs! As you may have guessed, they were on sale last week : )

gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! You find the most amazing things, like the knobs. I can see why your boxes are a big hit. You're always thinking ahead, smart lady taking pictures.

Love your canvases, they have turned out so beautifully with your gorgeous painted papers. The boxes are gorgeous as well, and I love the unusual knobs.
I have just added you to my Facebook page as well.
Love every thing you created and the way you think! Beautiful!
wonderful, and thanks for reminding me about the crayon/mini iron video. I saw that one a while back and forgot about it. I would like to try that technique.
Amazing! Everything you do looks so beautiful, you're a pro Diane. :)
Happy Weekend!

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
Your art is amazing, as always. Those knobs are perfect for your style. We don't have Hobby Lobby here and it looks like they carry a different sort of selection than Michael's. I haven't seen finished knobs at Michaels. Those are great!
Love the boxes, and all the color and texture! Beautiful work!
Gorgeous Diane

These are so cool! Thank you for sharing your mixed art printing methods too! <3
ohhh.....beautiful stuff
I am so glad you came to see me teach, I so enjoyed it and I will be back online doing some more stuff for the free online art class. I love your papers so much. I hope you get them all copied and don't have to hand paint them? I am going to have a look at how you made them.

I just love all of this! And the knobs are perfect!

Love those papers!!!! So who is gonna make it back from Redemption Island. Coach is rocking it right now, he just may have a chance to win it all, finally! LOL
Everything you make is wonderful! The knobs in addition to those fabulous papers and bright colors are incredible Diane!
Gosh, those boxes are great and the knobs are the perfect addition. I had forgotten that post until I went back to review it. I've never used gel medium for paste papers. I've always used Sta Flo liquid starch. I personally think my paint costs less than the gel medium, but I don't sell my pieces, and if I did, I would probably use better paint.
love all! Colors, patterns, textures and those cool knobs!
Gorgeous, Diane!! You are so, so clever!!
A Hobby Lobby has opened here, too....going to check it out this week....must peruse the sale bins, for sure!
When do you sleep, btw? Haha!
fantastic !!! the knobs are splendid beautiful Diane love Claire xx
Dear Diane,
your boxes are gorgeus, love the painted papers you had saved from beginning of the year, and what you did with them, and the ones you made and photographed. And the knobs makes wonderful legs,in just the right colours, for your bright and beautiful boxes.

You are right. Those knobs are just wonderful. They are so rich looking and add to the fabulous papers you had already created.
I canhear the pressure is on and have you in it's grip of production, yet....Everything looks like it was done with the greatest of easem just lovely work and boxes. I love the knobs also, so coordinated with your beautiful papers and aren't you glad you have that record and can make a few more. It takes a ton of ink.
That's it! I am going to make some more papers! It's been so long since I've made any, but I loved using them and your gorgeous pieces of art have inspired me to do some more. I just love everything about these - thanks for the shot in the arm ;) xoxo
