I haven't made these fun girls in a while, and this time I've had help from Christy's She Art Class and also Julie Nutting's book Collage Couture. If you like Christy's she art girls, then you'll like Julie's girls too.
Julie's style is a bit more detailed, and I really like the attitude that her ladies have too!
You get such great texture with the tissue paper (sewing pattern), and napkins. And the background always seems to help you tell the story of the girl that you're making too.
So back to Julie's book Collage Couture--
...it's one of my favorite art books that I have. It's jam-packed with different projects involving these fashion girls along with many step-by-step photos of her background techniques. She's even included a grid on how to draw these girls (at different angles too).....and one for children also! Plus...she shows how to draw and color hair, and facial features---it's a great book!
So............I think I'm going to make another one--my rose girl needs a friend!

She wonderful. From her stance to how you finished out the piece, all those little elements come together for one big impact.
Your She Art Gal is delightful! I love the lace and the dots on the dress. Thanks for sharing.

She looks just wonderful. I love that she is in the rose garden too. Nice piece Diane and I do love that dress. I don't have my glasses on so I hope I don't make too many mistakes. Great work, take care.

I like the background as much as the girl in this canvas. I admire how you made her outfit, too. You do such good work with paint and paper. I'm always impressed!

Love the She Art Gal! I've had that book on my long, "want" list at Amazon! Was hoping Santa would say to go ahead and order my own gift but it didn't happen this year! Maybe I should use what I have first! LOL!
But, she's very nice, like the background also!! Still just adore all your boxes and furniture!!
Looks like fun; and I like her something special about that skirt reminds me I think of my mother in the kitchen in the 1950's.
you did a beautiful job. I took that class and have that book too...you are inspiring me to give it another go.
Oh she is fantastic! I love all the bright colors, and that she is a Rose Garden girl! Spring is definitely in the air!

I love the sides of your work as much as the fronts....no detail overlooked!
Wonderful, Diane!
I like the title, I think people will see that and then look at the artwork and enjoy the piece even more. Creative arrangment of bits, they make me look longer, in fact it is the second time I have been here.

Your piece it so sweet...I love the pose you gave her! Very lady-like. She is now ready to go to tea.
Such pretty She Art! I am amazed how you put layers upon layers and create these wonderfully textured designs...love her dress! You inspire me to lay down the paintbrush and get more crafty with collage, scissor and glue..Have an inspired weekend :)

thank you for sharing this book, it does sound full of wonderful information.
Your art is fabulous darling ;-)
she's beautiful!
OMGoodness! I love her. I am a cardmaker who recently got into mixed media. I have not shared any of that work on my blog because I feel it is still not so pretty. I took Christy's She Art class and was a little put off by the messy look and haphazard cutting. I will have to check this other lady out you are discussing. Thanks for some amazing inspiration. :)
