My 2 WIP's Completed And More Food

So I finished my 2 pieces that I showed you last week....I changed them up a bit.  Here is the canvas one--

And I just want to say, Buffy, you read my mind.  She had commented last week that the way I had done it reminded her of playing cards--possibly the Queen of Hearts, and that's exactly what I had in mind.  So this is my version of the Queen of Hearts, ala Suzi with a little Norah thrown in,  and speaking of the Queen of Hearts, who's excited about Alice in Wonderland?!

And here's the finished box--

I'm really happy with the way these both turned out.  Here's what they looked like last week--

When I put these  photos up last week, I knew immediately that I was going to change them--I just couldn't get with these colors, but I'm still glad that I went through the process, because they add so much to the completed pieces because of the layers.

And now for Fattening Friday---this one is a favorite in our house, and I was surprised that not everyone has heard of them in different towns.  This is a pepperoni  ball--

You can get these at any local pizza shop here.  What they are, is pizza dough stuffed with pepperoni and deep fried  (of course).  You can stuff them with anything, though.  My grandmother used to make them from scratch and filled them with anchovies and called them fish balls.  I know your proabably thinking--ewww!, but if you like anchovies, which I do, they were delicious.  This one came frozen at the grocery store from a local Italian market, and you just heat them up in the oven, and they're still good.  But being the artist that I am, I can't leave well enough alone.  I always cut them open and put more pepperoni and a thick slice of mozzarella in them--

And then they're even better, and more fattening! I always make an antipasto salad to go with them--

And it makes for one delicious meal!

Salivating... I just had a healthy (rabbit food) lunch and my stomach is complaining big time! It wants those carbs!!
Your two pieces are amazing, I didn't recognise them. Can't wait to see Alice, though I have scared my son off seeing it after I painted that picture of the mad hatter!

Wonderful things to eat and nicely presented, one's family appreciate the effort. They might not say so but the memories of meals together and pretty meals lasts. However, they think it is simple as cherrios to get these things done.
That there is magic in your finger tips and kitchen that make these things appear. This is not news of course it is common in a lot of homes.

Your works that are completed, that would be WTAC, are beautiful, isn't red and hearts the most uplifting, As I have gotten older
I have introduced more red into the house and find it pleasant.
As I said, getting older so I wondered if it was just because I could see it better. I notice people in my age group ofte buy a red car, but then felt comfort as I see people way younger than me like red cars also. Anyway you face is also so beautiful, and you know I spoke of more fun things
in art work and feel what you saw this morning will have to have drama and not fun, I don't feel real confortable with the appearance of a mix.

Ok this is not a comment it is a
comentary and full of opinion.
BTW are these things your getting ready for sale at the show you were accepted in?

Thanks for coming by my blog.

Your Queen of Hearts box is wonderful and very imaginative. The face you drew is so creative. I actually had NO idea what post you were talking about, since, in my opinion, you changed it up so much I didn't even recognize it. Lovely, lovely pieces.

I've never heard of the pepperoni ball, but I LOVE anchovies. That salad looks to die for, too! Really great Fattening Friday!

Your artwork is so rich and full of life!

That pepperoni ball reminds me of what we have here in Texas, pepperoni rolls. Deeelish!

I found you through Robin, who said I could find fun French Bulldog pics here. She was right! I loved the stories about Bob, your grandson. My mom calls my little girl her granddaughter too. Frenchies are so sweet!

Hi Diane! Thank you for dropping by. I LOVE the boxes. Beautiful. Especially the one that looks like playing cards. The beautiful queen of Hearts can stash her darts.

She looks way to kind to use them.
