Hey everyone--I'm back! I didn't come back a rich lady, but I do have enough money to pay some bills, and feed my art supply and online class addiction, so I'm happy! I took my camera with me so I could take some pics to post, but I didn't want to show my work--you all know what it looks like, so I decided to show you some of my artist/friends and their work!
Here I am with my buddy Diane--
She makes beautiful porcelain jewelry--
She hand-forms all of her jewelry from porcelain clay, and then embellishes alot of the pieces with Swarovski crystal, Czech glass or semi-precious stone beads--very unique and creative jewelry!
And here she is in her booth : )
My neighbor was Designs by Stephanie--
Stephanie is a very talented textile artist --
This is all handpainted and very well done. She has a great eye for color--she has just the right touch--you know what I mean?
And then there is Natalie and Rich's booth--it's a double booth so I couldn't get it in just one shot--
They have the most impressive booth--it's better than alot of stores that I've been in. I'm telling you, Natalie, you could design store fronts.. The name of their business is Thru The Garden Window, and they have a little bit of everything for decorating your house with a vintage feel. Their signature items are their florals--
When ever I see them, their booth is stocked and decorated with seasonal items--perfectly!!! (Hi Natalie!--remember to leave a comment : )
I have all the contact info on these guys--so if anyone is interested and wants to know more, just let me know.
And as far as how I did--well I sold my tulip piece and phone table from my last post and also my little magazine stand that I showed you here, but I don't like to say it that way. I like to think that these pieces found their homes. And this is the first time that I ever took my painted faces to a show, and I did very will with them --4 of them found their home. And the ladies that purchased them were very excited. They asked me questions about my work and were very interested in what I do. The one lady even shook my hand! So after reading this whole post--now you know why I love doing these shows!
One more thing--thanks to my employee (aka husband) I was able to take a break during the show. And right across the street was this--
And next door was this store--
So I was good to go! Our town doesn't have a Jo Ann etc--do you believe that?! We have just a regular Jo Ann's, but that doesn't compare to an etc.. We do, however, have a very large, very popular casino that people from all over come to, but yet there's no Jo Ann etc. here--this just doesn't make any sense to me at all!

Fun, fun, fun! Looks like you were bathed in creativity and friendships during the show. Nothing better than that!! :) Silke
P.S. I didn't know there were JoAnne's etc stores...
Congrats, Diane, on your sales. :) Looks like you had lots of fun.
This is so fun to read, living the show through your telling. Lovely displays of hard work. I am glad you did well, one works so hard, and the hard work is the setting up and taking down is quite hard also. One wants to keep things nice and not damaged for the next show.
I was getting the giggles when I read about the stores close by as I knew the feeling. Nice you could take a break and go there also.
Congrats on your awards also.
Now you have some things to replace for the next show. I was sure people would be much attracted to your faces.
Oh Dianne I'm so happy you sold some of your girls, what a great feeling it must have been! It looks like you had fun, love the other booths too. Plus you got to run to JoAnne's and borders, two of my favorite stores(well we don't have a borders but we have a barnes and noble).
Congrats on a successful show. I use to love doing these many years ago. And I know it is a huge job getting ready for them.
Congratulations on your artwork finding homes!!! This looks like a fabulous show, based on what I know of your artwork and what you showed of your friends. Wish I could have been there!
Congratulations for coming back with money!!! Any sales are good sales!!!! I would have loved to see you work displayed! Suzi's new class is great but the 3/4 face is hard!!!
I really enjoyed your post today, Diane. Congratulations on a successful and fun show. Oh my! If these are only a few of the booths, I can only imagine how gorgeous the entire show was. Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs, Terri xoxo
Congratulations on the show and your sales! That is just great news. How lovely that you also got to take a breather at two of my favorite shops. What fun! Congratulations again! Theresa
Yaaaaay Diane! I am so glad you did so well, and just going to shows and socailizing I think is always the best part! I am not surprised about your girl faces, they are wonderful!
WEe don't have a JoAnn etc either, just rgular, but we Do have a casino right next to us too!
What a fun time you must have had! Congrats on the sales!!
Welcome home and and a big huge congratulations. Sounds like you had a fabulous show. It was so wonderful and thoughtful of you to show the other vendors, too. Thanks for taking us along on your voyage. Looks like a huge show. Again, welcome home. I know you must be very happy with the weekend.
Congrats, Diane! Looks like it was a fabulous show!! Welcome back!!
Glad it was successful - sounds like it was a lot of fun. I would have liked to see all your wonderful art displayed too!!
Hi Diane,Just saw your blog and I think it is incredible! I just love all the info and comments and pictures and all of it! And thank you sooo much for the more than generous things you said about my "store". You are way too kind! Your husband had told me about that cream puff but there is nothing like seeing it for real..wow, I almost had a sugar rush just looking at it. Someday when I get computer literate I will have a blog also (probably not tho!) but I am definately going to keep up with yours.
Good to see you again and hope to see you soon at one of your next shows. Take care and thanks again! Natalie
My oh my - congratulations on your show! Loved your post and the photos were so cool, made me feel like I was there with you. Lucky I wasn't. I would be poor today as I saw items I wanted! Glad you had fun and your employee let you have a little break! Oliver sends his regards to Bob.
Sounds as if you did good at the show. I'm in love with that jewelry! She does amazing work.
And how lucky that there was a Border's and a Joann's right there. You got to get rid of all that cash so you didn't have to carry it home with you!!
So glad the show was good for you....and I didn't even know there were two different kinds of JoAnns!?...I just go to one out of town...wish we had one, but in a town of 77 people...I think not possible! Well, now I know! Those booths looked really tempting....those springy floral wreaths were wonderful, I have always admired people who do all that porcelain jewelry and the the clothes were really nice....love them and that scarf she did....how do you keep from buying!?! That is why during our big events here, I try to stay home and just sell in the gallery....! The people you meet are the most fun too!
Congratulations on your show!!! I knew that you would do very well! It sounds like you had a wonderful time, too !
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Diane! I am sure you will surprise yourself when you draw a 3/4 face. You will do it beautifully! Who did you like on American Idol last night! I think Lee is moving to the top for me. He is adorable.
Im glad you had a wonderful time and congratulations on selling your work I knew you would.I didnt know there was a JoAnnes etc.I wish I had something closer-I keep hoping they will put a Michaels in closer to me.That blouse one of your friends made is pretty neat it has a flower with a ribbon through the material that probably would work with canvas to.Thanks for sharing ,Jonny
