Scenes From NYC, a Giveaway, and a Treasury

We  had  a  great  time  in  New  York--just  a  bit  cold,  though.   Last  summer  when  we  went,  it  was  just  a  "bit"  hot--we  really   need  to  go  when  the  temperatures  are  a  little  better.   Well,  at   least  it  didn't  rain  :  )  So  let  me  show  you  a  few  places  that  we  went  to--

We  took  a  walk  on  the  Brooklyn  Bridge,  and   while  we  were  there  we  had  the  BEST  pizza  at  Grimaldi's--a  very  popular  pizza  shop  there.   And  we  also  went  to  the  Brooklyn  Museum  of  Art--

It's  a  beautiful  museum,  but  I  think  I  liked  the  MoMA  a  little  better.

Saw  the  Dakota  where  John  Lennon  lived

And   right  across  the  street--Central  Park  West--

If  I  lived  here,  I'd   be  here everyday--I  loved  this  park,  and  obviously  do  does  this  little  guy--

We  kept  busy  and  saw  some  great  art  everywhere  we  went!

Mosaic  tile  floor  at  the  Waldorf  Astoria

The  ceiling  at  St.  Patrick's  cathedral

Anthropologie's  great  window  display---Okay--I'm  saving  my  pennies--I'm  shopping  here  next  time  I  visit  New  York--LOVED!!!  this  store!!

Only  in  New  York  City  in  45  degree  temps  will  you  see  this  : )

Another  fun  time  at  the  David  Letterman  show,  and  we  also  some  other  familiar  faces--

Kiefer  and  Chris  Noth!   We  saw  them  on  the  last  night  just  before  we  went  back  to  our  motel--that  was  fun!

And  I  have  more  photos  at  my  Facebook  page.

And  I  want  to  tell  you  about  the  giveaway  that  Tina  Kirk  is  having.  I  just  met  her  a  couple  of  months  ago--WOW--what  an excellent  artist!!Please-- Everyone go  and  visit  her  blog--what  wonderful  art she  creates!  And  her  giveaway  is  here
She's  giving  away  6  postcards  of  her  art,  and  here  is  just  a  sampling  of  them--

Don' t  you  just  love??!!

And  one  more  thing--Thank  You  Natasha  May  for  adding  me  to  your  Etsy  treasury  that  everyone  can  see  HERE.   Thank  You  so  much!!

Thanks for sharing your NY trip. Although I've been many times, I still haven't seen it all, but I do have a good pic of the "Naked Cowboy". I have it on my list of paintings to do. :)

I enjoyed this a lot, youar travel talks are so skilled.

I also enjoyed your tutorial. I didn't get there to tell you but it was very educational. I could make those little tiles and put them in pockets in my quilt journals. So much fun.

Wishing you a very spring like day.

Looks like you had a fun trip to NY! I scrolled down and saw that I have been missing some of your posts. I especially love the "She Art" you have created-the garden angel in particular. I will have to sign up for the class in April. It looks like such fun.

I keep showing up late, but those NYC photos just brought so many memories back into focus. I agree that MoMA is probably the better museum over the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Something I DID enjoy more in Brooklyn were the cemeteries. They were superb.

I can tell you had a lot of fun and Anthropologie's window must have been a treat. I really loved your photo of the ceiling at St. Patrick's Cathedral. And of course I LOVE Chris Noth, so that was the icing for me. I'm so glad you had a good time, dear friend. I'm in total awe of your trip.

What an exciting trip - WOW! I gasped when I saw that Anthro window. I was at the thrift yesterday and they had dozens of packages of all kinds of little wooden spindles and what-nots and I kept turning them over and looking at them and finally thought well what would I do with those anyway and I LEFT them. It is my punishment for falling behind on my blog reading!!

One day I'll make it to NYC...one day...

I love all the photos! Glad you had a nice time... and had celebrity sightings!! Yay!

And just so you know... Anthropologie has a website ...I know, not the same as being in one of those amazing stores... but just in case of emergencies... check them out online! Very dangerous to the pocketbook though! ; )
