That's what the colors are this week at Kristin's Summer of Color, and I think (but I'm not sure) this is my favorite color combination so far. I started looking for inspiration again (like last week), and I started (like I always do) with my endless number of papers that I have, and I found these (that I forgot I even had).
I love these papers from Bo Bunny and Pink Paislee, and I admit that they're a watered-down version of the strawberry lemonade punch colors, but as soon as I found them, I knew just what I wanted to do--this woodland/fairy theme gave me an idea. So this time I started rumaging through my very large collection of flea market and garage sale finds--
Everything came together very easily for me thanks to these papers. This old wooden box went from this--
...to this...
And she went inside of it--
....my little woodland fairy....
Whenever I find these random bits and pieces at these sales, I know that there will be a purpose for them--sometimes it takes years, but they're bound to come out into the world again in some art piece that I make.
My finished piece--
.....all thanks to Kristin's color prompt and those beautiful scrapbook papers.
So I didn't stop there. Like I said, I like to repurpose items, especially cigar boxes that I get mostly at my local tobacco store for a couple of dollars, like this one--
It now has a new purpose.....and look....
I'll call this my butterfly fairy box--LOVE these colors. Thanks Kristin for another great color week. And remember to check out all of the other art at the Summer of Color --and hey--you can join in on the fun too and make your own strawberry lemonade punch art!!
